Dear Mountaineer Family:
At the risk of sounding as old as I am, I remember needing a scholarship to pay tuition of only $149 one semester. I was blessed to live in Morgantown and I was able with jobs and scholarships to get an education that otherwise would have been impossible.
Today, one book can cost more than double that one semester of tuition I paid way back when!
To keep our country at a high level of competition in the new global economy, we need to keep educating our children. It is a privilege to help pass on to the next generations the chance to have a profession.
As a Morgantown native, WVU is near and dear to my heart. I appreciate the work of our Delaware alumni club. I have enjoyed all the value, information and fellowship that it offers, and appreciate the sacrifice of time and talent that our members have given.
A scholarship will help to bring WVU to the front of students minds when choosing a college and what better role models could they hear about than Bob and DJ Gibson. The scholarship is a wonderful way to encourage young people to choose a great school and to remind us and future generations of the community service legacy of the Gibsons.
Thank you for this opportunity to remember them in this special way.
Sincerely,
Regina Montagna
