Delaware Mountaineers:
An American author once said, "I did not know my own home until I left it."
How true those words are for me. As I reflect upon my years of living in West Virginia and of attending West Virginia University, I have come to realize even more than ever what special places the Mountain State and our University truly are. The pride, loyalty, dedication, commitment, and love I learned there growing up and as a student have had a tremendous influence on who I am today.
While I love my new home here in Delaware, it is comforting to know that I can still give back to a place that has given so much to me. I can think of no better way of doing that than by contributing to the Bob and DJ Gibson Scholarship Fund. This contribution will not only honor these outstanding Mountaineers, but it will help to provide a young person the opportunity to share the same incredible experience that has had such a profound impact on us.
As the Superintendent of Schools for the Appoquinimink School District, I know first hand the impact that a scholarship like this could have. Thank you for considering a donation and for sharing your Mountaineer spirit with others.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tony Marchio, Class of 1970
